IOWA FILM CELEBRATION The Iowa Film Celebration will occur on the night of Friday, August 10, 2007. By invitation only, this celebration will take place in the Plaza Towers penthouse. Filmmakers who entered the competition, workshop presenters, panelists, and special guests will be on hand to pay tribute to Iowa filmmakers. Conceived with the goal of giving Iowa’s film community an opportunity to recognize each other’sw extraordinary efforts and achievements, the Iowa Film Celebration is the culmination of a day of Iowa-centered events, such as the Iowa Showcase, at Landlocked Film Festival. “The Iowa Film Celebration is a chance for us to recognize each other, to publicly say thank you to those in the film community for their hard work and outstanding efforts,” says Bruce Heppner-Elgin, the organizer of the Iowa Showcase. “We want to present everyone working in Iowa filmmaking, from the newest independents to the most established professionals, a way to highlight each other's work.”
